Unit 1: Colors

Students learn 10 basic colors and practice these words with the sentence frame: I see a color circle. Students practice with whole group and partner activities and learn several routines, including Wordsplash, Memory, listening to a poem, and writing words in an Alphabet Box.

Session 1: Introducing Colors

In session 1, students learn the names of 10 basic colors and make flash cards.

In session 2, students review colors, practice listening to colors and play Name That Color with a partner.

In session 3, students review colors as a group and with a partner. Then students listen to a short poem about colors, focusing on vocabulary and rhyming words.
